"Mummy Loves"

I said I'd be strong for this, but fell apart at the seams

 Each passing hour the enormity of your suffering kicked hard

Whispering words of comfort, stroking your soft fur

These are some of the many moments I now reflect upon

How I yearn for you to be near

From my window our playground looks desolate

The spark has gone from the day, and from my life

Shall I sleep now? Will you come?

"Sophie, beautiful girl!"
