Deliberately Debbie chats with E G Parsons.....

How long have you been writing?

I began writing poems and short stories when I was twelve and have been writing off and on ever since. I’ve been writing professionally for five years now and I’m grateful to finally be able to do that. I’ve taken a break from writing newspaper articles to concentrate on finishing five new novels in the works. Sometimes you have to set priorities and finishing these books is most important to me at this time.

Why do you write?

To me, writing is as natural as breathing. My mind is so full of stories and characters wanting their stories told. I love poetry, but I’m drawn more to the poets of the past. There are a few modern poets I love and enjoy. Debbie Steven being one. I’m not happy with the changes taking place in poetry or what’s considered ‘in’ or ‘good’ in today’s society. There’s way too much emphasis on technique, grammar, capitalization—and the aversion to rhyming in poetry today is ludicrous. To me poetry is about emotions and images…that’s where the emphasis should be.

Who are some of your favorite authors?

Emily Dickinson, Dean Koontz, Edgar Allen Poe, Amanda Quick, Charlotte Bronte, Lavyrle Spencer, Elizabeth Lowell, Robert Frost, Henry David Thoreau, E. E. Cummings, and many more. I'm an avid reader and I love finding wonderful new authors to add to my favorites. I've recently added M. Jean Pike, Karen Rose, Lindsey Sands and Debbie Stevens to my list of favorites.

A madman stalks the small city of Briarwood and surrounding communities, carefully choosing those women he feels are worthy of his attention. Stripping them of all pride and dignity, he adds them to his ever-growing collection. At first his captive victims only wish to stay alive, eventually some will pray to die.

Police detective, Matthew Barns has a reputation for finding missing people when all hope is gone. With his attention divided between finding the missing women and winning back his fiancé, will he be able to find the victims before it's too late?  When one woman is found brutally raped and murdered, Matthew realizes time is running out for all the women.

Charles Ambrose Elliot, a wealthy and powerful businessman has loved one woman his entire life, Matthew's fiancé Alexia Wellington. Devastated when she and her best friend Meg fall into the hands of this madman, he's determined to do whatever it takes to bring them home.

“Black Rock ~ A Time For Love”

Imagine discovering that your entire life had been a lie, that you'd been kidnapped as a toddler and sent back to the 1800's. Roxanne makes this discovery from the rudest man she's ever met—a man who can turn her brain to mush and set her soul afire with just a look. You know the type, devastatingly sexy...impossible to resist. While fighting to remain the lady she was raised to be, Roxanne also must deal with another man...charming, obsessed...evil.

Final word....

I first met this lady over at 'Out of Darkness', a forum she had set up for people wanting to share their own personal experiences on 'abuse' whilst encouraging new friendships through support.

For Liza, it began when she was a young woman....brutally sexually assaulted at the hands of mindless monsters! Years later, she would unconsciously fall into the pattern of further abusive relationships, as so many of us do! Liza lived with an  emotionally & sometimes physically abusive man for 28 years before managing to free herself. It almost cost her life, but she never regrets doing as it was all part of her personal growth & strength~ Little did she know that there was another woman out there with quite a similar story who was in need of a friend......that woman was me. Through many conversations I found the strength I needed to speak about my own history and this dear friend has supported me all the way-Since then, Liza has been such an inspiration to my life and my work- She is a fine poet/author/freelance writer/artist and a mother of 2 boys, proud wife to second husband, living in Indiana-
