Always Here
Sometimes it's hard to understand,
why things happen as they do.
Especially when you lose someone,
who has been a friend to you.
We know not of tomorrow,
but one thing we can be sure....
God knows your grief and sorrow,
he will help you to endure.
You'll always have the memories,
of someone who did care.
Will remember a special friendship,
and the times you two did share.
I'm always here if you need a friend.
Just know you can call on me.
I hope that when tomorrow comes,
a brighter day that you may see.

Crossed Paths
Our Father works in many ways,
That His plan may be complete.
He may cross our paths with someone,
In order that we may meet.
It can happen in the strangest way,
When it's least expected.
His plan begins to take it's form,
In ways that's not detected.
We may find a common bond
As friendship starts to grow.
Even find this friend is different
From any that we know.
In time we'll know the reason,
He will help us understand.
A better person we will be,
Just as our Father planned.

.
I
began writing in the year 2000. I had never written poetry except as
a young girl. I never kept anything I wrote as I was very shy about anyone
reading my poems. It was just something I loved to do mostly, when alone
and lonely. After my husband died in 1999, I had lots of time to be alone
and began writing poems about what I was feeling or different memories
that came to mind. I now have my own website Reflections Of Southbreeze
where all my poems are presented along with graphics and music.
My favorite writer has always been Helen Steiner Rice.
When I first began writing I knew God had given me the gift of writing and I
wanted to write things that would bring praise and glory to Him. I pray before
writing all my poems and feel that God speaks to my heart in many ways.
I created a website in 2001 named the Poet's Desk. This website was created
for authors that wrote poetry so that others might see their work. I remember
when my first poem was published on the internet by someone and I was so
thrilled. I wanted to do the same for others and have made some lasting friendships.
I have a published Book, Reflections Of Southbreeze. This was an incredible
blessing and I'm sure our heavenly Father guided me every step of the way.
It now may be ordered through any major bookstore and is featured as a gift/devotional
book in gift stores and local Societies. I keep a supply of my books for those that
might like to order.

On
a personal note~ I met South just after losing mum, and was just
one of the many blessed who were chosen to appear on her pages at Poets
Desk`

My Daughter
My Daughter, when I think of you,
My heart's so full of love.
I know that you were sent to me
As a gift from above.
I think of the child you once were,
And though the years go fast,
The days of sweet hugs and kisses,
Are memories that last.
The woman that you've now become,
Just fills my heart with pride.
The love and kindness that you show,
Comes from deep inside.
Everyday you make time for me,
Sweet words I hear you say.
Sometimes it's just a word or two,
As "Mom are you okay?"
Thank you for the Daughter you are,
And company you lend.
You are not only my daughter,
But also my best friend.
